Justin Crosson, PLS, PrincipalWith deep industry expertise, Clark coordinates surveys that include comprehensive topographic data, site improvements mapping, record boundaries, underground utility locating, and title and due diligence reviews to identify potential encumbrances on the site. This is essential data for civil engineers to effectively design projects.
Beyond survey details, Clark adds value by incorporating photography into its packages, providing engineers with crucial site images. Various options like boundary resolution, aerial photogrammetry, drone imagery, and zoning reports are available to meet each project’s specific needs.
For companies that engage with multiple surveyors across different regions, a major challenge is the lack of standardization in survey results. Clark solves this problem with its proprietary, nationwide network of vetted surveyors, ensuring consistency of deliverables. This business model allows the team to streamline the surveying process and provide clients with consistent, professional CAD data, irrespective of the project’s location.
“If a client needs a site in Florida, Texas, and California, they don’t have to get hold of three different surveyors to pull that off. They can just reach out to Clark, and we will take care of it,” says Justin Crosson, PLS, principal of Clark Land Services.
Upon project commencement, Clark coordinates with the field staff for the given location, who proceed with the survey and utility designating fieldwork for the proposed site. Simultaneously, the office staff begins the CAD work and title review. Clark then gathers the data and completes the deliverables for the civil engineering work. For quality assurance, three stages of QA/QC are completed before sending it to the client.
The team also prides itself on its swift turnaround time, coordinating two to five-acre developmental sites to completion within three weeks. Speed and efficiency are of prime importance at Clark, as quick delivery of survey results can significantly impact a client’s ability to acquire sites in a competitive market.
In 2012, at the very beginning of EV charging sites being developed in the U.S., Clark was instrumental in meeting the needs of a large EV client for a site in the San Francisco Bay Area. This was among the initial EV charging sites being developed. The company began the development of its nationwide network on this site. This project was completed on time and within budget, setting a long-term partnership in motion and becoming the goto provider for the client’s site surveys nationwide.
If our clients need a site in Florida, Texas, and California, they don't have to get hold of three different surveyors to pull that off. They can just reach out to Clark, and we will take care of it.
A one-stop shop, Clark Land Services goes the extra mile by offering supplementary services outside the standard scope to simplify the process for its clients. Its client-driven, realtime platform, ClarkHub, facilitates the direct ordering and status checks of survey projects, making information more accessible to clients. The standardized price matrix for EV charger installations is another value-added service, enabling companies to accurately estimate costs for large projects.
Clark strives to foster a team-oriented approach, transcending the traditional client-vendor relationship. Regular meetings enable it to address client needs and continuously improve its service offerings, instilling their confidence and trust in the partnership. Clark also provides coaching and guidance on the design process, covering the full spectrum of site development surveying
Constantly refining its services and embracing innovation, Clark stands as a reliable partner in the field of site surveys. With a staff of over 60 employees, the company has scaled its operations to complete more than 3,000 projects annually, solidifying its position as the leader in providing surveys on a national platform.
